Dan KrausFounder of www.catinatreerescue.com, Dan started his rescue service in the winter of 1999. He has now rescued over 600 stuck cats plus an assortment of pet birds, orphaned baby squirrels, model airplanes and pet iguanas. It all started when an owner with a cat that had been stuck in an 80 foot tree for five nights, called the tree service company Dan worked for at the time. The cat's owner had called everyone looking for help. Dan went and rescued the cat who was so weak she could hardly meow. He then realized that sometimes cats really do need to be rescued. And there was no one to call for help. Dan’s cat in a tree rescue service was born. Rescues can have their own storys, filled with drama, love, danger and a happy ending. Dan created the cat in a tree web site to help people concerned about a cat stuck in a tree that just will not come down, and to build a directory of skilled tree climbers through out the country willing to be the one that climbs up and gets a cat down safely. Professional tree climbers and animal handlers wishing to be listed in the directory should contact Dan Kraus by email at Phone (425) 806-3845 |
